Our typical referral is someone who has a tumour on cross sectional imaging done for investigation of a symptom such as unexplained weight loss . The challenge is trying to diagnose patients early enough so treatment can be curative, ideally so consider early referral in patients particularly if they have unexplained weight loss that is persistent especially if associated with new change in bowel habit , flushing .
